This notice explains how PsychHack collects and uses personal information. We aim to keep it short and clear.
1. Who is responsible for your information
PsychHack is a trading name of Dabbles Music Productions (Pty) Ltd, a company registered in South Africa (registration number 2016/488420/07), 25A Park Lane, Hilton, 3245, South Africa. We are the controller of personal information collected through psychhack.net. For any privacy question or request, including to reach our Information Officer under South Africa’s POPIA, email support@psychhack.net or call +60 11 3686 5352.
When you buy through our checkout, Paddle.com acts as our reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle collects and processes your payment and billing information as an independent controller under its own Privacy Notice, and shares with us the details we need to deliver your order.
2. What we collect
- Order details from Paddle (or another payment provider): your name, email address, country, what you bought and when. We never see or store your full card details.
- Download records: when your download links are used and how many times.
- Reviews: the rating, comments, display name and role you choose to submit.
- Newsletter sign-ups: your email address (and name, if given), collected through beehiiv.
- Messages you send us by email.
- Technical information: basic data such as IP address and browser type in our server logs, and, if you accept analytics cookies, how you use the site.
3. How we use it, and our legal reasons
- To deliver your order, send download links and provide support – to perform our contract with you.
- To keep tax and accounting records – to meet our legal obligations.
- To keep the site and downloads secure, prevent misuse of licences and improve our products – our legitimate interests.
- To send our newsletter and, after a purchase, one email asking for a review – with your consent, or our legitimate interests for past customers, which you can opt out of at any time.
- To understand site usage through analytics – with your consent.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with services that help us run PsychHack:
- Paddle – reseller, Merchant of Record and payment processing.
- Paystack – payment processing, if we offer it in your country.
- Hostinger – website hosting and email.
- beehiiv – newsletter delivery.
- Google – Google Analytics (only if you consent) and YouTube, for videos linked from our resources.
- Professional advisers (such as accountants) and authorities where the law requires it.
5. International transfers
Some of these providers process data outside the UK, EU or South Africa, for example in the United States. Where this happens, we rely on recognised safeguards such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.
6. How long we keep it
- Order and payment records: for as long as tax law requires (usually up to 7 years).
- Newsletter details: until you unsubscribe.
- Reviews: while they are shown on the site, or until you ask us to remove them.
- Server logs: for a short period, normally no more than a few months.
7. Cookies
We use cookies that are essential for the site and checkout to work. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, but only if you agree to analytics cookies. You can change your choice at any time: Change your cookie settings.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask to see, correct, delete or receive a copy of your information, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent at any time. Email support@psychhack.net and we will reply within one month. You can also complain to a data protection authority: in the UK the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk), in South Africa the Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za), or the authority in your EU country.
9. Children
Our shop is intended for adults, such as teachers, tutors and parents. Students aged 13 or over may sign up to our newsletter; we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
10. Security
We use secure (HTTPS) connections, protected download links and reputable providers, and we limit access to personal information to what is needed.
11. Changes
We may update this notice from time to time. The latest version is always on this page.
